夏天在加拿大是很‘珍贵‘的季节。一年才这三，四个月的阳光，所以，这里的人争取所有机会享受阳光，找尽所有藉口来庆祝。 夏季的每个周末，都有数不完的节目。最普遍的是街头美食节。

加国是个多元文化的国家。各国各种族的人多会聚住在同一地区。所以，街头美食节多在某种族聚住的地区，并带有其色彩。

如我家附近曾是意大利人聚住的地方，所以这里有个意大利街头美食节。不过，这十多年来，很多意大利人已渐渐搬去其他地区。反而，多了很多加勒比海人和拉丁美洲人。所以，这里在三，四年前开始举办Salsa Street Festival。

Summer is precious here in Canada. Well, it is not hard to understand that, it is the only 3-4 months sunny days Canadians will have for the whole year. Canadians will take every opportunity to enjoy the sunshine, and will make every excuses to go under the sun.  Nearly every weekend is jam-packed with many festivals, shows and activities. One of the most popular events in Toronto is street festivals.

Canada is a multicultural country. It is common that some particular ethic groups live in particular areas, like the Chinatown, Little India etc. Hence, the street festival for a particular culture will most likely be held in that area.

旧朋友和三个小瓜 Olds friends and three little ones

昨晚和两位旧朋友 – Ah Ben 和慧沁，出来吃个饭。

认识他俩有十五年以上了。

Ah Ben 是我的小学和中学同学，慧沁是我的中学同学。

他俩已是夫妇多年，带着三个儿子出来。

我们失去联络蛮久了，是最近才在Facebook重遇。

多年不见，难得又聚在一起。没想到有说不完的话题。

或许也因为我找到慧沁的部落 ，常上去‘看’她。

也在那认识到他们的另一面 – 爱上长跑。

我们谈他们的长跑，谈我的背包旅行，谈我们和身边朋友的近况，谈他们的儿子经…

我们一边谈，一边看着那三个小瓜嘻嘻哈哈在餐厅玩。

他们甚至和用餐的顾客打成一片，好活泼 🙂

旧朋友就是旧朋友。

虽在过去很多年，在不同的国度，过蛮不同的生活。

再相聚时，感觉还是很温馨。

很难得 ，真的很难得….

可惜没拍到朋友小康之家的照片。

那三个小瓜真的好可爱哟 ！

这两个星期在马，因两场婚礼，碰上了很久没见的旧朋友，都感到很贴心，尤其是昨晚。

或许是因为那三个精灵的小瓜。

突然，觉得我们都长大了。

不但要为自己的快乐负责，有些朋友已经要为下一代的幸福努力….

Merry Christmas !! 圣诞快乐！！

Merry Christmas ! Merry Christmas ! Merry Christmas !

满街的人喜气洋洋，小孩蹦蹦跳跳。有些小孩和大人们带上了圣诞头饰。

当然，圣诞节还未到，但昨天多伦多市中心却比真正的圣诞节更热闹。

因为，昨天是多伦多一年一度，也是北美最大型的圣诞花车游行。

这游行始于1905年，当时是由多伦多出名的百货公司Eaton赞助。

至今有整百年历史，历经二世界大战，经济大衰退。

读到，在第二次世战时，资源贫乏，游行服装都是用纸做的。

Ed当然知道这游行，但从来没去过。他说，这是小孩才去的。

我耍赖，说我是游客，硬要去凑凑热闹，Ed无奈，唯有和我这大小孩去。

气温虽只有四，五度，可太阳公公也出来陪小孩欢庆。

游行在12.30开始，我们一点多才到。

看来，有许多人像一早拿了椅子地毯食物等，在路边霸好位子一边看一边野餐似的。

除了约二十多辆的花车，还有许多穿上小丑，仙女，动物等服饰的队伍，逗得小孩大人们乐呼呼。

24队乐队一路上奏着圣诞歌，圣诞气氛浓厚。

我们刚好在Sick Children Hospital 前看。

我偶尔见到脸有病容的小孩脸上或他们的父母们脸上展现的笑容，真的很感动。

至少，那个时候，他们可以暂时抛开病楚忧虑，可以忘情地欢庆。

圣诞老人花车是压轴。他这亲切的老人一出现，人们好开心，有些小孩还追着花车跑。

游行在2.45才圆满结束。

散开的人们心中一定欣喜, 小孩们心中一定更渴望圣诞快快到来。

Colourful Winter

昨天天气还好。有阳光。因气温还是零下，所以雪没溶。阳光照在雪上会很美丽。心血来潮下，跑去了The Beach。

The Beach 是多伦多东西部较小的镇。离市中心约半小时的公共巴士车程。靠海岸，有个漂亮的沙滩。所以，名为The Beach。听说，主街里的一些商店蛮有意思。算是旅游胜地。夏天会人山人海。

我还没去过，因为听说冬天会很冷清。还以为今天的好天气会有些不同， 可是正如大家说的。我有些失望，也想念墨尔本的沙滩。

正打算回家时，看到几个老师带着一群穿着五颜六色冬天外套的小孩，奔奔跑跑地穿过被大雪盖满的公园。

白色纯洁的雪，五颜六色的可爱小孩。我今天很高兴。

The weather was pretty mild with lovely sunshine two days ago. It seemed to me was a good day to visit The Beach.

The Beach is a smaller town located at the East West of Toronto. It is about half an hour bus ride from the Downtown. It has a beautiful beach, hence its name. There are some funky stores at the main street. It attracts lots of tourists and can be very busy during summer time.

I have not been there since I came because of nothing interesting in this cold winter. I thought the sun would bring more people there but I was wrong. It was quite quiet, even depressing there.

Walking to the bus stop to return home, whilst feeling disappointed and missing the beautiful beaches in Melbourne, I saw a group of children wearing colourful winter jackets walking across the whitish snow covered park with their teachers. This is a scene that I would never seen in Melbourne.

Winter is colourful in Toronto. I went home happily.
